A little about me…
Hi! I’m Ellie.
I am experienced NHS Midwife working for 12 years across pregnancy, labour and postnatal care.
I absolutely love my job, and enjoy getting to know families- and celebrating all the milestones of the pregnancy and new-born journey alongside them. I spent a wonderful five years in a community team that provided continuity for the families we cared for and have seen the benefit of having trust-based care from people you know.
I believe in true holistic care - not just looking at the medical aspect of pregnancy, but caring for a person’s both physical and emotional needs and keeping that person at the centre of their care.
I am available for appointments to compliment and enhance the care you are receiving from the NHS or other provider. We can meet during your pregnancy or after your baby is born, in your own home for unhurried appointments.
Please get in touch if you have any questions!
Why Should You Hire A Midwife?
Evidence shows that women want and benefit from continuity of carer.
Women who receive midwifery continuity of care are less likely to experience an unplanned caesarean section or instrumental birth, and may be less likely to have an episiotomy. They are more likely to have a spontaneous vaginal birth. They are less likely to have a preterm birth or lose their baby in pregnancy or in the first month following birth.
Safety is not just about what happens physically.
Safety for women and their partners & families also means emotional, psychological and social safety. Being comfortable with someone, building a relationship with them overtime enables trust to develop. Anxieties and concerns can be shared and allow for the positive aspects of growing knowledge and confidence to develop.
Women who have continuity of carer report more positive experiences during pregnancy, labour and postpartum.

Packages of Care & Appointments
When you purchase a package of appointments, you also get access to the ‘Message a Midwife’ service. With this you can text me for general advice and guidance in between our scheduled appointments.
Individual appointments (either pregnancy or postnatal) are available at £250 per appointment.
When are you available for appointments?
I have a range of availability throughout the week. This varies week to week as I am still working as an NHS Midwife.
I will also be taking periods of leave throughout the year, where I will not be available for appointments but the ‘Message a Midwife’ service will continue.
If urgent appointments are required, with your agreement, I can facilitate another independent midwife to fulfil the appointment on my behalf with no extra cost to you.
Where are my appointments held? How long do they last?
Your appointments are conducted at your home. They typically last between 1-2hrs depending on your needs and requirements.
As I travel to you, I am able to provide care within 45 minutes travel of my home. If you are outside of this area, please still enquire - I may be able to accommodate you or alternatively signpost you to a colleague, should you wish.
How does the ‘Message a Midwife’ Service work?
If you are purchasing a package, you will be able to message me for non-urgent queries between your midwife appointments. Please expect a reply within 36 hours (but likely sooner!).
Do I need to book with the NHS Maternity Service?
It is strongly recommended that you also book into your local maternity unit.
Through the local hospital service you will be able to access blood tests and scans, and emergency help (if needed). You can use as much or as little of the NHS services as you need.
Currently, I do not provide labour and birth care so you will have make arrangements either to attend your local NHS unit for birth, or I can signpost you to other private colleagues.
How do you record our appointments?
All appointments will be recorded using secure documentation systems, and copies will be sent to your via email. It is encouraged you print these out and take them to other maternity and when accessing urgent or labour care.
How do I book into your service?
Please get in touch with me via my email or mobile. We can also speak on the phone if you have any further questions.
Once you have decided to go ahead, I will send though an invoice for the package or appointment you have selected.
For pregnancy packages of care, I ask that 50% of the balance is paid ahead of the first appointment, and then the remaining balance by 36 weeks.
For postnatal packages and one-off appointments, I ask that the balance is paid ahead of the first appointment.
However, please do enquire if you would like to make alternative payment arrangements.
